19th avenue is a sleeper of a burb on the Hill. It's one of the most residential-only neighborhoods, with a ton of community building activities happening all the time! The food can't be beat too, and I wonder if the residents will mind us telling their secrets to the world here on our site.
Vios serves up some amazing Greek food, while Monsoon will fill you mind and spirit, with Asian fusion. If it's soul food you're after, look no further than the Kingfish Cafe. Heed my words- order the Red Velvet cake when you arrive,or they might be out by the time you finish your fried chicken, and you'll be oh-so-sorry if you miss it!
Down the block, at Miller Community Center, you can play in the fountain, drop your kids off for summer lessons in everything from computer classes to ballet.
The Miller Park Neighborhood Association, in their own words ' a feisty group of neighbors
sandwiched between Capitol Hill and the Central Area', keep a great blog over at www.millerparkseattle.blogspot.com.
There, you'll find tons of information on what kind of activities are coming up next, information on new building developments, local workshops and so much more! Andres Taylor does a bang-up job of keeping visitors abreast of current events on 19th.
