Psychospatial IIName: Psychospatial IIDate: January 12, 2017 - February 5, 2017Website: http://www.dendroica.galleryEvent Description:New Media work by Joseph Gray and Reilly Donovan Joseph Gray's "Subtle Chroma" integrates projection mapping into the gallery setting. His work relates to the physical architecture of the gallery. Rather than making an attempt to flatten the space, "Subtle Chroma" enhances the dimensional realities and draws us into the slower pace of architectural time. Joseph Gray, a Seattle resident, explores non-objective abstraction and minimalism through his algorithmically generated animation. His new media work has shown around the country. Reilly Donovan's "Hypnagogic Hypnopompia" explores the border terrain between waking and sleeping. It calls up glimpses of a fragmented world that lies beneath the surface of the everyday. The viewer reaches into this world and navigates through it using their hands as guides. Reilly Donovan, based in Seattle, received his BFA from Cornish College of the Arts in Video, Photography and Sculpture. Donovan and Gray both are Artists in Residence at Cornish College of the Arts @ iEti (institute for emerging technology and intermedia). Among other projects, they created an interactive projection-mapped digital installation at Design Basel, Switzerland.
